Absender unbekannt. Möglicherweise handelt es sich um einen Konventualen des Klosters St. Blasien, da im Brief mehrmals vom Breisgau die Rede ist. In Frage käme Philipp Jacob Umber. Es wäre zu prüfen, ob er und Fürstabt Mauritius Ribbele (1793–1801) im März 1801 in Wien waren.
